ROYAL CLAY PRO ADVANTAGES
- EASY AND CHEAP INSTALLATION: must be installed on a draining subbase (mateco, draining asphalt) or on a subbase with inclination on the edges (resin, asphalt, concrete). The system can be installed in 2/3 days : carpet rolls must be glued directly on the subbase, then the white PVC lines must be glued on the textile carpet and lastly, all the surface must be infilled with clay.
ROYAL CLAY PRO - TECHNICAL INFORMATION ROYALCLAY PRO® is a sport surface for indoor and outdoor tennis courts composed of a textile membrane whit a tridimensional structure filled and dressed whit clay. The system can be installed both on news as on old courts with perfectly flat porous concrete or draining asphalt. The installation of an automatic watering device is strongly recommended. We will provide a full kit composed of: ROYAL CLAY PRO® - CARPET ROYALCLAY PRO® - STRIPES ROYALCLAY PRO ® – GLUE ROYALCLAYPRO® - RED CLAY The rolls of ROYALCLAY PRO® should be placed over a length of 36.50 m in the direction of play and placed one roll next to the other while the temperature should be between 10 and 25 °C and in total absence of humidity as the polyurethane glue may create an increase of volume with an irregular surface of play. Rolls gluing can be done in 2 ways: Option 1: gluing with PU glue in stripes every 2/3 cm if the base is permeable (draining asphalt or porous concrete9 Option 2: total gluing with PU glue if the base is impermeable; in this case the base should have a single slope of 0.5% to 1% The rolling phase is an essential stage for the surfaces of the installation. After gluing with the PU glue the carpet is continuously rolled over with a 40/80 kg cylinder in order to prevent the PU glue from raising the carpet surface. This operation must continue without interruption during polymerization of the glue and may take several hours. The white stripes can be installed in 2 different ways: Option 1: with 5 cm wide plastic stripes glued on the carpet. Option 2: with a special paste ½ mm thick applied in layers to the membrane surface after the delimitation of 5 cm stripes with 2 adhesives tapes. The installation process of the red clay infill is the same as the one for the traditional clay court. The infill is applied at the rate of approx 7 kg/m2 of red clay until reaching the level of marking lines. Red clay should be repeatedly sweep while watering in order to help the infill entering the membrane surface. For your ROYALCLAY PRO® court we suggest following tips in order to keep your court in perfect conditions for long time. After use, it’s recommended to pass the net in order to level the clay. It is also recommended to add more clay if the tridimensional membrane appears on the surface. During the winter season remember that the quantity of infill to be added depends from the rate of clay absorbed by the base membrane during the winter break. For the rest of the year the infill must be added according to the rate of use of the court and the weather conditions of the area during the playing season (wind, rain, snow etc.) In any case it is warmly recommended to maintain the thickness of the clay at about 2mm. Watering is a crucial maintenance point for your ROYALCLAY PRO® that’s why we suggest to keep the ground damp. Watering must be performed at the end of the day, but never under strong direct sunlight. It is possible to use the Calcium chloride in spring and summer in order to improve the water retention of the court. Save your time installing the PVC lines which do not need any maintenance while for painted lines it may be necessary to re-paint the lines whit the acrylic paint when they are appear to be badly damaged. Keep your ROYAL CLA PRO® clean; all dusts should be removed from the playing surface; for instance fallen leaves could create a impermeable layer feeding the soil and creating optimal conditions for moss. To prevent the growth of grass or moss, it’s recommended to use CI based weed-killers. In case of frost, thawing is progressive and the court should not be used until the court is returned to standard conditions, allowing a normal drainage of the ground. We recommend to renew the ground at least every 5 years. The process consist in the complete removal of the clay with to a high pressure water jet or with the vacuum extraction of the old clay followed by the installation of new ROYAL CLA PRO® clay.
